Philosophy of Care
Through education, training and clinical support, the Transfusion Nurses will, promote the safe and appropriate use of blood and blood products Trust wide.
Act as a specialist knowledge resource in the field of transfusion to provide guidance to staff requiring further information.
Work closely with both Regional and National bodies to ensure transfusion practice at CRHFT is kept up to date.
Transfusion Team Placement
Our hours are 9 -5 Monday - Friday and we are based in Pathology.
On Monday if you come to Suite 9 (Phlebotomy) for 9am and ask them to ring Virginia or Anne, then we’ll come and show you to our office.
We have access to hot water, microwave and small fridge so if you want to you can bring your lunch with you.
We arrange a short IT training session for you on Monday so that you’ll be able to access the LearnPro E-learning system after that, BUT you’ll need your National insurance number for your login, so please bring it with you on Monday.
